Short BIO – Dr Atef Elshabrawy

Dr. Atef benefits form more than 26 years of experience in SME’s, entrepreneurship and innovation. CEO-founder of, advisor to the International Entrepreneurship Academy-Centennial Fund-KSA, and advisor for GESR-Social Innovation Center, Cairo-Egypt, SME’s advisor to the Federation of GCC Chamber of Commerce, KSA. He occupied earlier top executive positions like: CEO-founder of Family Bank, the bank is the winner of Mohammed Bin Rashid Award for “Young Leaders” as the best Bank in the Arab Region in 2013. Before, was advisor to the Ministry of Development where he was responsible of many govermental intiatives supporting microentreprise and NGO’s. Earlier he was General Manager in Bahrain Development Bank, responsible of the Bahrain business incubator center, biggest entrepreneurship center in Bahrain. Before, we as Manager in the Social Fund for Development, participated in the design & implementation of a master plan for empowering women & youth by incubation in Egypt. Added to above jobs, he occupied several expert jobs within national, regional and international development organization like: EC, OECD, ISESCO, UNESCO, UNDP, UNFPA, UNIDO, GOIC, ESCWA, GTZ, IFC-World Bank, TCF, USA- ICNL, SILATECH, etc.

Dr Atef has his Ph.D from L’institut National Polytechnique de Lorraine (INPL), France in 1996, D.E.A from Ecole des Mines de Nancy, France in 1992 and BSc. from Cairo University – Egypt in 1989. More, he has several higher diplomas & certificates in development, finance, innovation support & strategic management from Toulouse- France, PNE-UK, SBA-USA , China-Torch program, IFC-World Bank. His deep Knowledge in global development issues permitted him to publish more than 35 articles & 3 books on Business Incubators, SME’s Supporting Mechanism, Development In Islamic word and Social Business Experiences In The World (under printing).
